Carefully critiquing writings makes you a better reader, so you'll get more out of your readings.

Being a better reader and getting more out of your reading is good for your grade in English classes and makes you sound smarter when discussing literature.

The more critique you give, the more you get, even from people you havent critiqued. I dont know why this seems to work, but it does.

As long as youre not downright rude and can back up what you say, you can tear into a persons workand etiquette dictates they thank you!

Read a piece of writing.
Give your opinion on what you think is good about the piece, what you think is bad about the piece, and why.
